Māris Mednis was one of the fathers of the PR business in Latvia, and he has spent his entire professional life in the field of communications. Māris established "MRS Grupa" on the basis of his personal experience and after a close look at the successes and failures of his colleagues and competitors. Announcing that his goal was to offer perfect and timely assistance to clients on the basis of long-term co-operation and mutual loyalty, Māris ensured that "MRS Grupa" has become a successful and independent local company, one which does not see any need to follow along with the fancy business trends that have been announced by competitors.

Before establishing "MRS Grupa", Māris directed the PR company "Kubits & Hamburg." He worked as a PR advisor to former Foreign Minister Valdis Birkavs, and as the director of Radio 102.7 FM (the first private radio station in the territory of the former Soviet Union) and of Radio 2 AM 945. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Māris worked as a television and press journalist for local and international media outlets. His television stories about the restoration of Baltic independence were shown on CNN, the BBC, ABC and other channels.
